If you mistakenly deleted your Chrome
browsing history and have lost all of your important Chrome bookmarks you be at
a complete loss thinking about how to get them back. This can sometimes occur
even from the most innocent-seeming processes like losing your Chrome history
after updating Google Chrome.
Luckily, all of these complex Chrome
history loss problems can be fixed. Three methods will be detailed in this
article: EaseUS software offers an effective, easy-to-use solution to find and
recover your deleted Chrome history. Additionally you can use a built-in
Windows tool or a tool in Google Chrome itself to recovery your history.
Solution 1: Use DNS Cache to recover deleted
Chrome browsing history
Keep your computer connected to the
internet and do not shut down or restart your computer after you lose your
Chrome history. Follow the next steps to access your deleted Chrome browsing
history by using DNS now:
- Step 1:Press Windows + R, type cmd and
click OK. Or, you can also type cmd in
the Windows search bar.
- Step 2:Open
Command Prompt, type ipcongif /displaydns and
click Enter.
Once
you complete these steps, all your recently visited websites will be displayed.
You can view all of your recent browsing history on Chrome, and copy & paste
the important websites into Chrome where they will be saved once more.
This
solution, however, will only show your recent browsing activity and will not be
able to recover your full Chrome history, unlike the next two solutions.
Solution 2. Restore Chrome browsing history
from Google History
If you have a Google account, whenever
you lose your Chrome browsing files or Bookmarks, you can get them back via
Google History. Google History will reinstate all of your browsing history,
including Bookmarks, that is stored in your Google Account. Let's see how to
recover deleted Chrome history via Google History:
- Step 1:Search Google History > Click “Welcome to My
Activity - Google”.
- Step 2:Sign
into your Google account.
- Step 3:Then
all of your browser/internet history files will be displayed along with
the date/time. Browse your history as needed.
Solution 3: Use data recovery software to
recover lost history on Google Chrome
Most often, when you delete Chrome
history files and bookmarks on your PC, you can navigate to the path below to
find the backup files of Chrome history/bookmarks:
Google Chrome:
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\local
storage(or Bookmarks).
However, if you also lost the backup files on
your computer, you'll need professional data
recovery software to step in and help. Our recommendation is
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard - a tool for retrieving lost data and files.
Download it for free and follow the next three steps to retrieve deleted Chrome
history:
Launch EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard > Select the
location where Chrome is installed and click Scan > Preview and select the
discovered Chrome history/bookmark files to restore them.
